armasuisse

A swiss soldier in conversation with an employee of armasuisse
armasuisse (former Defence Procurement Agency) is the procurement and technology centre of the DDPS. armasuisse provides systems, vehicles, material and buildings for the armed forces, civil protection and other clients.

The main task of armasuisse is the evaluation, procurement, maintenance and disposal of military and civilian equipment and buildings.

In performing these activities much attention is paid to the principle of economic efficiency with the aim being to provide clients with tailormade solutions and products as cost-effectively as possible.

The downsizing of the armed forces means there is less demand for equipment and systems. armasuisse therefore plays a central role in selling surplus weapon systems with a view to reducing storage and operating costs and generating sales revenues.

armasuisse cooperates intensely with domestic and foreign industrial partners. It is also in close contact with internationally active procurement organisations abroad.
